Retiree Medical
Effective 1/1/2007 a OneBeacon employee must be at least age 55 and have at least have five years of service to be eligible for retiree medical benefits.
Retirees are eligible for the Choice medical plan. The retiree pays for the full cost of this coverage.
At retirement, the OneBeacon employee moves from the active plan to 18 months of COBRA and then can elect the pre-65 retiree medical coverage. The retiree is required to have been enrolled in coverage as an active employee at the time of his or her retirement date to be eligible for retiree coverages.
